Question: How are you going to beat Shawn in your Iron Man match at Wrestlemania? Bret: I think just from the punishment standpoint, I don't think anyone takes punishment better than I do. And in this situation I am going to have to reverse that role and give alot of punishment for a change. That will be the only way that I will beat Shawn Michaels. I will have to physically overpower him for 60 minutes. Question: Is it true that as a kid you collected comics? Do you still? Bret: Yes, I did. I sort of still do. It's not like it was when I was a kid. I am a Batman freak Question : Bret what do you think about Diesel hitting Shawn Michaels with the chair Bret: I think it was to be expected. I determined for myself that Diesel had less than high scruples at Survivor Series. He was a selfish, self serving big dummy. Question: How do you feel about Diesel and Razor going to the WCW? What separates them from you? How do you feel about there lack of loyalty? Bret: What separates me from them is that I am not money driven. I don't think you can put a price on loyalty or class. I don't have any bad feelings towards either one of them I think it's the nature of the business. Yet for me, I could not and would not turn my back on my fans and my legacy for a sum of money. I don't believe that either one of those two will do as well down there as they did up here. Question: Is Vince McMahon fair in paying his wrestlers? Do you feel that guaranteed contracts belong in wrestling? Bret: I don't know. Again, I have never really done it for the money. I do it because I love it and I have never been unhappy with my money. You can always be paid more though. It would be nice to see everybody make what baseball and football players make. I wouldn't be surprised if guaranteed contracts may become an important consequence...that and the extra added time off would be the only advantages of going to a second rate organization like the WCW. Question: Why do you think the house shows have been up so significantly of late? Bret: Well I would love to say that it is because I am the champion. Which, in fact, might have a small part of it. What I think has actually happened though is that for the first time in 5 years all of the really huge names from the past have in essence died out. The new stars are finally starting to earn their own little niche. As as example, my 5 year old son doesn't even know who Hulk Hogan is. But he is well aware of who Goldust and Hunter Hearst-Helmsley are. And the WCW is still playing the same old tired themes that they did 7 years ago. If someone wanted to watch Hulk or Ric Flair or for that matter any WCW wrestlers, they would be better off renting some old WWF videos and watching them in their prime. Question: If guaranteed contract made there way on a more consistnt basis why would a guy go out there and bust his balls every night? Bret: Well I think I can't answer that for everybody. You have to love this to do it. There can't be a pricetag on everything. Question: If there was a match tomorrow between Jose Lathario and Stu Hart. Who would you put your money on? Bret: It would be like an old Great Dane ripping apart an old Mexican Chihuahua Question: What was you most memorable moment in the WWF? Bret: I would have to say the highlight was knowing that at least 82,000 people were not going to leave until they watched me. I'm hardpressed to narrow it down to one. Question: Does Dallas or Blade have aspirations of becoming wrestlers? If so, what kind of advice do you give them? Bret: I don't know that either one has any ambitions for that yet. I don't wish it, Idon't shy away from it either. My advice to them is that no matter what they choose for a career, just strive to be the best whether it be a painter or a brain surgeon. Question: Bret, how was it working on WWF: The arcade game? Bret: Actually it was very hard work. But at the same time, it was a real thrill to have been part of such a great effort to put out a great product. I think it's one of my favorite little irks to be an action figure immortalized in a card and to be in an arcade game. Question: If you had to defend the belt against either Vader or the Ultimate Warrior. Who would give you more of a difficult time? Bret: I think Vader would definitely be harder. I'm not really sure how invicible the Ultimate Warrior is. I learned to duck clotheslines along time ago. As for Vader, he looks tough. Very tough. Question: Getting back to the arcade game...And you pick Bret...who do your kids pick? And who wins? Bret: Well, generally speaking they using pick all the other wrestlers. They have no favorite, not even me! :) Bret: It was nice for a change. Question: How was it having the Undertaker in your corner on Sunday? I knew before I went in that I had to pick one of the four guys and I picked the UT. I still have the most respect for him after all these bouts. Question: Do you remember the last time you wrestled for an hour? Bret: I believe the last time I wrestled for an hour was with my brother Owen about a year and a half ago. I think Shawn is in the best condition I have ever seen him in. Question: Do you think Shawn knows you better now? He might be better than any wrestler I have ever seen. Although conditioning is a very important thing, it's not the only thing. Alot of great conditioned athletes in wrestling aren't necessarily winners. Question: What is your stategy going into the match at WMXII? Bret: I don't think that I would want to disclose my strategy. All I can say is that I am going to get off first, finish tough and getaway clean. Question: Do you have a problem with your kids watching Goldust? Bret: I'm watching the situation as closely as possible. I believe that my youngest son who is five isn't too worried about it. He doesn't understand it. My older son is smart 12 and old enough to handle it. If I had children in the middle of that, I may be concerned. They might have crossed the line a couple times. But so far I think it's ok. OnlineHost: Thanks for joining us tonight Champ!.....Good luck at WrestleMania XII in the Iron Man Match against Shawn Michaels!! Bret: I'd like to say that in WMXII Shawn Michaels like to talk about this match being the performance of a lifetime. My performance has been a lifetime and I believe that it's very important for me to defeat Shawn Michaels at WM XII. I don't believe his message and his product are ever going to be up to the same standards as mine. I feel very confident that after 60 mins people will realize that I am everything that I say I am. The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Victory lasts but a moment, but excellence lasts a lifetime.
